Working Together for Conservation
The Johnson County Conservation District works alongside a network of local, state, and national organizations to deliver conservation programs and services to our community. These partnerships allow us to provide technical expertise, educational opportunities, and financial assistance to landowners, farmers, and residents across Johnson County, Kansas.
Kansas Association of Conservation Districts (KACD)
The Kansas Association of Conservation Districts supports local conservation districts across the state by providing leadership, education, and resources that promote the conservation of soil, water, and other natural resources in Kansas.
National Association of Conservation Districts (NACD)
The National Association of Conservation Districts represents nearly 3,000 conservation districts across the United States. NACD supports local districts by promoting conservation leadership, providing education and resources, and advocating for policies that protect soil, water, and natural resources nationwide.
Johnson County K-State Extension
Johnson County K-State Extension provides research-based education and resources to support agriculture, natural resources, community development, and family well-being. The Johnson County office works with local residents, landowners, and producers to share practical knowledge and programs that strengthen our communities and natural resources.
Natural Resources Conservation Service – USDA
The Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) provides technical expertise and conservation planning assistance to farmers, ranchers, and landowners. Through voluntary programs and partnerships, NRCS helps protect soil, water, wildlife habitat, and other natural resources across the country.
Kansas Department of Agriculture – Division of Conservation
The Kansas Department of Agriculture Division of Conservation works with local conservation districts to administer conservation programs and cost-share funding that help protect soil, water, and other natural resources across Kansas.
Hillsdale Watershed Coalition
Focused on protecting and restoring the Hillsdale Lake watershed, the Hillsdale Watershed Coalition brings together local partners to improve water quality across Johnson County and surrounding areas. The coalition is sponsored by the Miami County Conservation District.

Johnson County Government is a premier local government serving over 610,000 residents in the Kansas City metro area. It provides comprehensive services through 30+ departments, including public works, mental health, and aging services. Governed by a seven-member Board of County Commissioners, it emphasizes public service, trust, and leadership
